
ABOUT THE FOUNDER
Prof. dr Cvetko Brajovic
(23.05. 1923. – 21.07. 1982.)
Cvetko Brajovic was born in a poor family in Jelenko in Danilovgrad in Montenegro. His father was translated 1928. in Dubovik near Decani, where he remained until 1941. Poor, guarded the monastery and the cattle could not have attended school regularly. Yet he finished secondary school in Pec. In high school he belonged to progressive youth politics.
The Medical Faculty in Belgrade has been studied since 1945. to 1951. After graduation he was an assistant with Prof. Dr. Milutin Neskovic of Physiology. After a short time with general medical practice, completed his residency in pediatrics and was one of the major contributors of our famous pediatricians and neonatologists academician Prof. Dr. Uros Ružičić.
Since 1960. to 1964. conquer other studies, the Department of Psychology, University of Belgrade, and even 1962. the Medical Faculty in Belgrade, defended his doctoral dissertation "Development and the relief of seeing some features of higher nervous activity"
Based on their lives and their studies, brushes Brajovic was destined to deal with handicapped children. It was the sixties began to gather enthusiasts to work on unlocking the potential of children in developing countries. For a long time studying the problems of stuttering, mainly from the work, which in addition have a multidisciplinary and international aspects, developed his method of treating disorders of speech called "The conscious synthesis of development. "
Establishing the Institute of psychophysiological disorders and speech pathology, Dr. Cvetko Brajović lays the foundations for organized interdisciplinary work of doctors and psychologists, in particular for education of parents of children with disabilities. The beginnings of the Institute are very tough, in tight spaces and with little material support. This is offset by the extraordinary persistence, patience and taking Dr. Cvetko Brajovic, who all passed on to his associates. His motto at work was "that parent is the best therapist, " and "family is the school".
Although the release of the existing potentials Dr. Brajović used and the Empire, its principal merit for future development of this complex activity consists in the fact that, in searching for the essential foundations of human abilities and that their students simply nagonio to deepen their knowledge of neurophysiology. Dr. Cvetko Brajović the end of life persisted in linking the science and practice.
Assistant professor at the newly established Special Education, University of Belgrade Dr. Cvetko Brajovic was elected in 1975. and already in 1978. Associate Professor. He has published many papers and in collaboration with his wife Dr. Ljiljanka Brajovic, 4 volumes. He actively participated in the university postdiplmskoj continue, as the Special Education and School of Medicine.
It was not until 1981, with the opening of the Center for Specialized Rehabilitation Lipovica forest, Prof. Dr. Brajović got their own separate working areas. Center Lipovica is the fruit of his basic attitude in working with disabled children, and is designed as a school for parents.
